Market Days

Updated: Jun 21

Hello! It's been awhile since I've updated you all with our journey. We want to thank you for your patience. Especially, our die hard customers who've reached out and waited patiently for their orders to be fulfilled. You know who you are! Our house is under contract and while we don't have a new pace, as of yet, we are taking orders with a limited menu. If there is something special you are looking for-- reach out and we'll see what we can do! In the meantime- the journey continues! Wishing you all days ahead where gluten doesn't have you tootin'!

We see and hear many strange and interesting things while spending our Saturdays at the market. One of my favorite questions is, "Is it good?" My inner voice wants to reply, "Why no, it sucks!" Thank goodness, I can usually quiet that voice. Seriously folks, our slogan is "Gluten Free Baked Goods That Don't Suck" I certainly would not want to sell anything I myself would not eat and if it is terrible, I'd like to know. And if it is good--amazing even-- I'd like to know that, too. So, stick around for some stories from the market and the general running of a bakery.

The last time we were at the market a woman around my age came to the stand and said, "I'm so glad to have found you! I have Hashimoto's and my daughter has Celiac." I replied, "Hey! That is exactly the same as me and my daughter!" We conversed for awhile, she bought a few things and walked on to find her next treasure. After she left, my daughter replied, "How come you get a cool sounding disease..." and in her best Samurai voice said, "Hashimoto's! And mine is..." in a nasally whine, "Celiac!" It was hilarious! She and my husband spent the rest of the afternoon coming up with a new names for 'celiac'. A few of my favorites; Tummy Dragon, Commode Destroyer, Gotta Go!, Turbo Tummy, Churri Diablo, and my favorite, gluten got me tootin'- for which we were able to find a t-shirt. So, take a page from my daughter and the next time you have to explain your diet restrictions to someone, chose a fun new name!

Hello one and all! Exciting news... we're on hiatus while we look for a new place to bake our Gluten Free Baked Goods That Don't Suck! Stay tuned for more information.
